This sounds SO simple, but I have seen so many people fail to connect to God because they're trying to do it while they wash up, or squeeze it in for a second before their dentist appointment.
Start small if you want - even just a minute a day - but for that minute, there's only you and God in the picture, and you're not going to do anything else.
You're not going to talk to your kids, or check your email, or start texting your spouse supper ideas. Nothing.
It's just you and God, with no distractions.
For many people, this works best if they also fix a specific time of day to talk to God.
Early birds and mothers often find it easier to do first thing in the morning, before anyone else is up; night owls will do it to wind-down, before they go to bed.
But the point is, to know every day:
- WHEN you are going to spend time talking to God,
- How long you're planning to do it for, and
- To schedule it in, the same way you'd do any other important meeting.
